Special District Paralegal

This is a full-time, non-exempt position supporting multiple attorneys in our Special District practice area. Our ideal candidate must possess strong communication and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys and other paralegals by having the ability to take on multiple roles.
  • Assist with the organization of special districts, elections, annual compliance filings, preparing meeting packets for board meetings, tracking deadlines and general maintenance of clients.
  • Be the point of contact for special district inquiries from attorneys, staff, consultants, and clients.
  • Coordinate the organizational election to/and including preparing comprehensive schedule of election procedure and statutory and constitutional deadlines; monitor process for each special district conducting election; coordinate and ensure compliance with all deadlines and term limitation restriction of elected officials.
  • Assist with preparation, and review with attorney or district accountant, annual budgets and audits or audit exemption requests, monitor compliance with all statutory and constitutional requirements, restrictions, and deadlines.
  • Handle file maintenance and organization; demonstrate effective teamwork and work cooperatively with other departments and individuals in the firm.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of law firm experience.
  • Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Transactional experience preferred.
  • Document management experience required.
  • Familiarity with billable hours and time entry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proactive communicator and thinker.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.

Salary Range

Per Year, DOE

$65,000 $75,000
